Avallen COP26 cocktail takeover with Tim Etherington-Judge
With Avallen you can enjoy a deliciously refreshing drink - without giving the planet a hangover! Every bottle made removes 2.73kg of CO2e from our atmosphere (without external offsetting). That’s the equivalent of driving 21 km in an average car - keeping our planet as crisp as your drink!
How? Because apples grow on trees, which act as powerful carbon sinks, helping us combat climate change by locking up CO2 in their wood and roots!
Join us from 7pm Thursday evening for a menu of zero-waste cocktails and climate positivity.

The Oxford Artisan Distillery: Farming a sustainable approach to spirits
With farming accountable for 25-30% of a spirit’s total carbon footprint (Spirits Europe May 2020), farming must be at the heart of any truly sustainable distillery. Join The Oxford Artisan Distillery’s Master Distiller Chico Rosa, Head of Farming & archaeobotanist John Letts and Head of Whisky Charlie Echlin as they discuss distilling Oxford’s first whisky from heritage grains grown mostly within 50 miles of Oxford, with sustainability, biodiversity and taste at its heart. This will be a very unique insight into the farming and distilling processes which make Oxford Rye Whisky so special.

TROLLEYBUS NO. 5 by Sven Werner
Trolleybus No. 5
Trolleybus No. 5 explores the mysteries of time and memory and the psychological landscape of characters in transit, about to re-invent themselves, both thrilling and terrifying!
The piece was commissioned by the Memory Office in Kaunas (Lithuania) as part of Kaunas 2022 - European City of Culture and first shown last month in Kaunas at the City Telling Festival. It is inspired by memories from individuals who moved to Kaunas from different parts of the world, in particular memories of their initial arrival - a first bus journey, searching for greek yogurt in the supermarket, an exchange with a stranger.., meaningful memories, which, in their intensity, only ever existed in someone’s head and yet hold within a universal quality of new beginnings.
I have always been drawn to new beginnings, fascinated by the deep breath before the jump, and the freedom and unexpected turns offered to those who sit in this breath willingly and step out with abandonment. I have sometimes trusted and courageously jumped, and at other times I have looked away, only then to be pushed. It is that moment, on the precipice, touching on expectation, dreams, and fear - a space where perhaps anything is possible.
